Understand the scope and terms of a service

Ask what is included, what is separate and how the relationship works.

Clarify responsibility and scope

Ask who performs the work, what the agreed service includes and which matters fall outside it. Understand whether other professionals or a separate engagement may be needed. A clear written explanation reduces the chance of comparing different services as though they were the same.

Discuss fees and information handling

Request the fee basis and any relevant cancellation or termination terms before committing. Ask how records and confidential information are handled. Do not enter symptoms, account records, legal case details or information about children into a general public website.

Keep your own decision informed
